Design Software Helps German Children Get Creative
Krass Association is a nonprofit organization that offers free cultural education to children and young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The association, which is headquartered in Dusseldorf, is a project of the Cultural Foundation for Children. It was founded in 2009 by the visual artist Claudia Seidensticker. Ms. Seidensticker and her now 45-strong team of volunteers encourage children and young people to use art projects to explore their own strengths, abilities, and talents. The association promotes the development of key competencies through workshops and school projects, with scholarships provided to needy children.
Krass received a license for Adobe Photoshop through Stifter helfen.de - IT for Nonprofits, TechSoup Global Network partner in Germany. Photoshop has helped the association in processing images for both web and print. The donated software has enabled Krass to present a more polished and professional image to sponsors and partners. And it has made it easier and quicker for staff to update pictures on the organization's website.
